Cheese Wafers

Toasted sesame seeds, Cayenne pepper and cheddar cheese combine to give these crispy snack crackers a satisfying kick. All-Bran® cereal adds just the right hint of sweetness and keeps the texture light. Perfect as a lunchbox treat or hors d'oeuvre.

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • Dash cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup toasted sesame seed
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened
  • 2 cups (8 oz.) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup All-Bran® Original
  • or 1 cup All-Bran® Bran Buds®

1. In medium mixing bowl, stir together flour and pepper. Set aside. Place sesame seeds into small shallow bowl or pan. Set aside.

2. In large mixing bowl, beat margarine and cheese until very light and fluffy. Stir in KELLOGG'S ALL-BRAN cereal. Add flour mixture, mixing until well combined. Drop by rounded teaspoon into sesame seed. Coat evenly. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Flatten with fork dipped in flour.

3. Bake at 350° F about 12 minutes or until lightly browned around edges. Remove immediately from baking sheets. Cool on wire racks.

Yield: 5 dozen (60) wafers
