Breakfast Helps Aly Give it Her All
In gymnastics, athletes have to be light and strong and possess enough energy to execute difficult maneuvers and routines. That’s why Aly always tries to eat as healthy as possible, making sure she gets enough protein, fruits and vegetables to help fuel her performance.
Some of Aly’s favorite Kellogg's® breakfast foods include Special K® Low-Fat Gronola cereal. and Special K® Chocolatey Delight cereal. with milk, which provides her with a good combination of protein and carbohydrates to help her start her day right.

For Aly, Great Starts
Come Early
“I got started [in gymnastics] when I was 2 years old. My mom, a former gymnast, put me in Mommy and Me classes. I had always had a lot of energy, so it worked perfectly.” — Aly Raisman

Her Great Things
Aly Raisman started gymnastics at age 2, when her mother, a former gymnast, enrolled both of them in Mommy and Me classes to burn some of Aly’s extra energy. It was only a matter of time before Aly’s gymnastic career took her to the heights of international competition. A team member at Brestyan’s American Gymnastics Club in Burlington, Mass., Aly started her senior gymnastic career in March 2010 in front of a hometown crowd at the American Cup in Worcester, Mass. where she placed second in the all-around competition. Later that month, she won the all-around at the City of Jesolo Trophy in Jesolo, Italy. In May, Aly competed at the Pacific Rim Championships in Melbourne, Australia, where she helped the American team win gold and individually took silver in the all-around, balance beam and the floor exercise. Success continued for Aly in 2011, including a first-place finish in the all-around competition at the CoverGirl Classic in Chicago, Ill., and a team gold at the 2011 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Tokyo, Japan. This year Aly continues to impress with top-three finishes in the all-around competitions at the American Cup in New York City and the City of Jesolo Trophy in March, the Secret U.S. Classic in Chicago in May, and the Visa Championships in St. Louis in June. The culmination of Aly’s success came in July when she placed third at the Olympic Trials in San Jose, Calif., leading to her selection as a member of the U.S. team competing at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
