Our company’s foods enjoyed around the world come from a culture that fosters belonging, respects ideas and encourages diversity of thought. People are at the core of our business and we know that our greatest strength lies in the many diverse, inclusive and passionate colleagues we have across our company.

In 2019 and early 2020, several leading organizations again recognized Kellogg for our commitment to building and supporting diversity and inclusion in our workplace, marketplace and the communities where we work and live. These include:

Our annual Features report provides an in-depth look at our initiatives that embrace diversity and inclusion and led to these honors. It includes information on our employee-led Business/Employee Resource Groups that continue to play an instrumental role in advancing our diversity and inclusion priorities. Kellogg also continues to advance these commitments as a signatory to the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion and U.N. Women’s Empowerment Principles.

Gender Parity at Kellogg

Our company’s commitment to diversity can be traced back to our founder, W.K. Kellogg, who was a pioneer in employing women in the workplace and reaching across cultural boundaries. Today, Kellogg continues its commitment to gender parity.


Celebrating International Women’s Day

On International Women’s Day, March 8, Kellogg launched a global video to inspire conversation and bring further awareness to gender parity, which, according to the World Economic Forum, is still more than 200 years away. This year's theme, #BalanceforBetter, recognized that gender balance is essential for economies and communities to thrive – balance is not a women's issue, it's a business issue.

The Kellogg Latin America Women of Kellogg business/employee resource group hosted a special “eat-chat-grow” session where leaders fielded candid questions from employees around personal and professional development and achieving success in the workplace.

Of course, our focus isn’t only on women. Recognizing the vital role of fathers, our team in South Africa hosted a “Share the Care” panel to raise awareness about our parental leave policy and to encourage fathers to take leave.

Kellogg brands support diversity and inclusion

Kellogg brands also embrace our commitment to diversity and inclusion:

  • Again in 2019, Kellogg offered its limited edition All Together Cereal® on Spirit Day to demonstrate acceptance of and solidarity with LGBTQ youth. The company, its employees and brands joined millions of people "going purple" to support the LGBTQ youth community during Spirit Day, the largest and most visible anti-bullying campaign in the world. We also donated $50,000 to GLAAD to support their anti-bulling and LGBTQ advocacy work.

  • Kellogg’s Froot Loops® again partnered with United Way in Battle Creek and Seattle, and extended the program to Detroit, to promote anti-bullying efforts through the brand’s United to Be Kind program.

  • Kellogg USA signed the Association of National Advertisers Alliance for Inclusive and Multicultural Marketing’s #SeeAll campaign that encourages marketing and advertising to mirror America’s growing diverse populations.
