Q: Which of your cold cereals are completely tree nut and peanut free?
DONNA R.
A: We understand and share people's concerns about food allergies. Our company has been a leader in developing manufacturing processes that reduce the risk of allergens contaminating allergen-free foods. We have worked extensively with allergy organizations and research groups and understand the seriousness and complexities of food allergies.
All of our product packages label the top eight allergens (i.e., peanut, tree nut, cow's milk, egg, soybean, wheat, fish and shellfish) in a separate box directly below the ingredient list on the Nutrition Facts side panel. Because product formulations can change at any time, we encourage you to check the ingredient statement on each package you purchase for the most up-to-date information on the ingredients contained in that product.
In most cases, our foods are not made on a shared line with other foods that contain peanuts and/or tree nuts. Where shared lines are required, the lines are cleaned thoroughly between production runs and peanuts and/or tree nuts are listed in the “May Contain” allergen statement. The allergen statement can be found on the nutrition label.
