A savory twist on an old favorite, with a dash of extra fiber to boot! These delicious meatballs are enriched with All-Bran® cereal and shredded cheddar cheese for a zingy taste. Serve over hot buttered egg noodles, topped with savory onion sauce, for an easy, family-style dinner.
1. In medium mixing bowl, combine KELLOGG'S ALL-BRAN cereal, egg, milk and pepper. Mix well. Let stand about 5 minutes or until cereal softens.
2. Add ground beef and cheese to cereal mixture , mixing until well combined. Portion and shape into 1-inch meatballs. Place in single layer in shallow baking pan coated with cooking spray.
3. Bake at 400° F about 10 minutes or or until done (160 degrees F). Remove from oven and immediately loosen meatballs from pan. Serve with Savory Onion Sauce oven noodles, if desired.
Savory Onion Sauce
1/4 cup chopped onion 1/4 cup margarine or butter 1/4 cup all-purpose flour Dash pepper 1 can (10 1/2 oz.) condensed beef broth soup 1 cup water 2 tablespoons sherry
In medium fry pan, cook onion in margarine over low heat until tender. Stir in flour and pepper. Cook until bubbly and lightly browned, stirring constantly. Stir in soup and water. Increase heat to medium and cook until mixture boils, stirring constantly. Continue cooking and stirring 1 minute longer. Stir in sherry. Serve with Cheese-and-Meat Balls over noodles.
