Today, through our global Kellogg’s® Better Days commitment, we will:
I. NOURISH PEOPLE WITH OUR FOODS
Our purpose in Turkey is to nourish Turkey’s potential with its fortified grain-based cereals. We are taking indigenous grains and serving them in a convenient ready to eat format which saves consumers much time and effort. This is what has led to the range of offerings from Kellogg’s which fulfill the diverse nutrition needs of different members in the family, Our trusted brands such as Kellogg’s Coco Pops, Kellogg’s Special K, Kellogg’s Granola, Kellogg’s Corn Flakes®, Kellogg’s® Rolled Oats, are loved by millions in Turkey.
II. FEED PEOPLE IN NEED
Working with the vision of a good and just world where people are not just fed but fulfilled, Kellogg launched its Global Better Days Program in Turkey through an important social responsibility project in cooperation with TEGV. Kellogg Turkey distributed one thousand tablets and fifteen thousand servings of Coco Pops to a thousand children to delight them with delicious nutritious food and help them reach their full potential.
III. NURTURE PEOPLE AND OUR PLANET
Nurture people and our planet by supporting farmers, especially women, smallholders and workers, and conserving natural resources across our value chain.
One of Kellogg's top priorities is to provide its employees with equal conditions of access to opportunities by developing more fair, equitable and inclusive business models while offering products to its users. It continues to work for gender equality not only within its own bodies, but also for the development of women's employment to create social benefit. It has supported more than 440,000 farmers, workers and women to date through conservation agriculture programs that help increase yields, support biodiversity and livelihoods.
Kellogg is focusing on sustainable agriculture is pleased to share that its support to the domestic farmers in Turkey, has finalized the first oat harvest of the year. Kellogg, which supports oat farmers in Isparta, Sivas and Eskisehir on subjects such as agricultural engineer consultancy, fertilizer and plant protection products, within the scope of the 'Better Days' project carried out on a global scale, will bring oats to its lovers by delicious products.
For the following years, Kellogg will continue the projects that will increase women's participation in economic life and support them especially in terms of participation in agriculture and education.
OUR JOURNEY TOWARDS OUR COMMITMENT
To align with Kellogg’s sustainability commitments, this is the first step towards our global goal of 100% renewable energy by 2050. As part of its sustainability efforts, Kellogg carries out many studies aimed at reducing the greenhouse gas emissions in its facilities and the electricity used from renewable sources. Accordingly, compared to the previous year, it reduced water consumption by 45%, steam consumption by 25% and energy consumption by 18%. It also achieved 84% recyclability globally in the packaging used.
