Whole Grain vs. Refined Grain
Learn the difference between whole grains and refined grains.
At Kellogg’s, our philosophy is simple: By giving you our best, you can be at your best.
So we start with the goodness of a single grain. With those choicest simple grains like corn, wheat, rice, barley, ragi and oats, we create a variety of Kellogg’s cereals, like Kellogg’s® Corn Flakes, Kellogg's® Muesli, Kellogg’s® All Bran® Wheat Flakes, Kellogg’s® Chocos®, Kellogg’s® Special K® and many of the other cereals, that are made with a handful of ingredients, plus vitamins and minerals your body needs. So when you open a box of Kellogg’s cereal, you find the goodness of grains fortified with essential vitamins and minerals, to help nourish your body.
We prepare our cereals in a method similar to what you do in your own kitchen — just on a larger scale.
That way from seed to spoon, field to family, you get our best in every bite.
1. Kellogg’s Corn Flakes
“Sun-ripened golden corn chosen carefully from fields of India is milled to corn grits which are cooked with malt flavouring, partially dried and allowed to rest before flaking, toasting and spraying with vitamins to yield golden crunchy Corn Flakes.”
2. Kellogg’s Chocos
“Blend of wheat solids and cocoa is cooked under high pressure in short span of time and shaped into scoops with die mould. Scoops are dried, sprayed with vitamins, coated with cocoa syrup and further dried to yield delicious crunchy and chocolaty Chocos.”
3. Kellogg’s Special K
“Broken rice & wheat are cooked with malt flavouring, partially dried, converted into tiny balls and allowed to rest before flaking & toasting. Toasted flakes are sprayed with vitamins, further lightly coated with a touch of sweetness and dried to yield crunchy Special K Flakes.”
